GHClone is a free GitHub acceleration gateway. Append the original GitHub link after the acceleration domain to speed up Release downloads, Raw files, source archives, Gists and git clone — no registration and no software to install.

What we are

Domains such as github.com, raw.githubusercontent.com, codeload.github.com and gist.github.com often suffer from connection timeouts, interrupted downloads and stuck git clone operations on mainland China networks. This service relays these requests through Cloudflare’s global edge nodes, making open source code easy to fetch again.

The core principle is “zero-change migration”: following the industry-standard “acceleration domain + original link” format, existing scripts, IDE settings and CI pipelines need almost no changes — just append the original link after the acceleration domain.

Capabilities

Full coverage of five resource types: Release assets, Raw files, source archives, Gists and Git Clone
Smart line scheduling: concurrent latency probing in the browser picks the fastest line, with server-side retries and circuit-breaker fallback
Resumable downloads: the Range request header is passed through end-to-end, so large transfers resume after an interruption
Edge caching: static assets and Raw files are served from cache on repeat visits, without going back to the origin
Releases parsing: paste a repository home page link to view version lists, asset sizes and multi-line download buttons

Technical foundation

The service is built on Cloudflare Workers (edge compute functions). Static pages and acceleration APIs are served by the same Worker — no server of your own and no hosting registration threshold. Request and response bodies are streamed end-to-end, never buffered or written to disk; the line pool, cache and rate-limit parameters are all configurable.

Usage boundaries

Only for accelerating access to public open source resources; private repositories are not supported
Not a general-purpose proxy, and account-related operations (login, registration, OAuth, etc.) are never proxied
Do not use it for scraping, mirroring or relaying unlawful content
Request rates are limited; please avoid high-frequency automated requests
